5 Clear Steps On The Path to Success

1. Learning from Failure

When you do sports sometimes you succeed, and sometimes you lose. Value-based leadership is essentially learning from failure and the things you have not done well. It is also about learning from success and knowing how to handle it. It is not easy to handle success, Power is a success but when not handled well, it can be very devastating.

But there is also another issue we want to underscore here: The value of preparation, for instance for those who play sports you will realize that you are probably better off when you practice more.  You can never wake up from your bed change into a sports uniform and go to play any game. You have to prepare well. You will not suddenly be a good student if you do not work hard. You will not be a good leader if you do not work on it. This is the moment that life has given you to practice (To those who are still in School). Make good use of it because the tournament is coming.

2. Sharing Your Life

My other point is a call to return to the spirit of volunteerism. Your life is not well lived until you have shared it by being I the service of others. Sometimes you have to deny yourself so that others may gain. Sometimes it is just about giving up your space in the queue for somebody who is at that time, weaker than you, or challenging for some other reason. Your life is not well lived until you have shared it by being in the service of others. Sometimes you have to deny yourself so that others may gain. A lot has been given to you in terms of opportunities so a lot will be expected of you. To be in service of others, look for opportunities to volunteer.  For those who are familiar with the Bible to whom a lot is given a lot is expected. A lot has been given to you in terms of opportunities to volunteer. Do not shun an opportunity to volunteer.

3. Mission in Life

Know your mission in life. Ask yourself this question: Who am I? And am I  adding value to my life? Because it is only when you know yourself that you can deliver. It's obvious that as a leader you will model behavior. When You learn not to take something without permission, it is a foundation. We see in some countries that some people grab public property without batting a yield, precisely because earlier on in their formative years they did not appreciate asking before taking. Those magic words that you are told by your Sunday school or kindergarten teachers, "Pleases", "Thank You", and "I am sorry", are extremely important in leadership. Preparation and planning are also critical. Being a leader is a long-term prospect; it is not a day-one event. Great leaders take time to prepare. Jesus, Himself had to fast for 40 days and 40 nights before commencing His mission.

4. Climb from the bottom

When young people leave college they want to live in certain neighborhoods, they want to drive cars and not just any car but a car that has two names, like Mercedes Benz, Toyota Land Cruiser, etc.  Just remember that a tree must be climbed from the bottom. Life is not in stand coffee. Any shortcut in life will eventually cut you short.

5. You are a leader by Yourself

As a young person, you must not allow yourselves to necessarily follow the conventional path that some of your predecessors have walked. Allow yourself to be innovative and creative knowing yourself, what you can do with your education, your creativity, your energy, and your skills allows you to chart a new path. You can do it.
